Everyday English Conversation Dialogues
Meeting someone new
John: Hi, I'm John. Nice to meet you.
Sarah: Hi John, I'm Sarah. Nice to meet you too.
John: So, do you come here often?
Sarah: No, it's my first time here. But I really like the atmosphere.
John: Yeah, it's a great place to hang out. Are you from around here?
Sarah: No, I'm actually from out of town. I'm just here for the weekend.
John: Well, it's nice to have you here. So, do you have any plans for the rest of the day?
Sarah: Not really, I was thinking of exploring the city a bit. Do you have any recommendations?
John: Sure, I can show you around if you want. There's this great museum not far from here that I think you'd really like.
Sarah: That sounds perfect. Let's go!
Asking for directions
Emily: Excuse me, can you tell me how to get to Main Street?
Tom: Sure, it's pretty easy. Just go straight down this road and take a left at the first stop sign.
Emily: And then?
Tom: Keep going straight. You'll pass a gas station on your right, and then you'll see a big red building on the left. That's the courthouse.
Emily: Okay, got it. And Main Street is just past the courthouse?
Tom: That's right. You can't miss it.
Emily: Thanks so much. I really appreciate it.
Tom: No problem. Have a nice day!
Inviting someone to do something
Mike: Hey, do you want to come over to my place for dinner tonight?
Jessica: That sounds great! What are you planning to make?
Mike: I was thinking of making some pasta and garlic bread. And maybe a salad to go with it.
Jessica: Yum, that sounds delicious. What time should I come over?
Mike: How about around 7 pm? That should give me enough time to get everything ready.
Jessica: Sounds perfect. I'll bring a bottle of wine too.
Mike: Awesome, looking forward to it!
